FLIP ULTRA HD CAM-REVIEWED BY JOE APPIO FOR TECH IN 60

In the 1970's Karl Malden used to pitch American Express Cards. Like Karl Malden, I never leave home without my Flip Ultra Hd cam.  For under $200 with a case and HDMI cable, this wonderful videocamera gives you two hours of HD quality and the ease of use.

STYLIZED AND PRACTICAL

Thanks to the pop-out usb, you can upload and charge your device without any external cables to lose. It's attractive black rubber and brushed steel design also ensures a good grip in the slipperiest of situations as well as durability in harsh conditions.  Unlike the Ipod, the device allows you to replace the rechargeable battery pack while giving you the look and protection of a sealed unit.

ALWAYS WITH YOU WHEN NEWS HAPPENS

Put it in your pocket, jacket or purse and no worries until an important event occurs.  until it is time to capture an event.  TV networks have also outfitted their personnel with these devices so everyone becomes a cameraman when major breaking news hits.  It has revolutionized the speed of delivering content as the entire world is now able to capture and upload quality video in minutes.

You can upload to your laptop or Epson Photo-Viewer with a few clicks and be ready to hit the road in no time.  Of course it is YouTube and web friendly and shoots surprisingly well in low-light situations.

Videos can be deleted from the device selectlvely so you may keep the ones that you want to view quickly over and over again within reach at all times.

MY RECOMMENDATIONS

The sound is good for anything within 12 feet; a port for a wireless mic would be a terrific add on to future generations of this device.  It would be fantastic if this also was able to import video from your DVR for viewing on the plane or on the road.  The Kodak Competitor does offer a SD slot instead of a bult in drive as well as a wireless mic port. Nevertheless, I have grown accustomed to the Flip.

MARKETING JUGGERNAUT

The PR and marketing folks have done one heck of a job making The Flip ubiquitous worldwide, joining the dream-team of Xerox, Polaroid, Scotch Tape as elite innovations. There are many other competitors in this realm, but for cost, quality, ease of use and style, The Flip Ultra HD should be on your favorite things list , not only on Oprah's.  Don't be surprised if the producers of WOW WOW WUBBZY who have already present the Flippity Flip frisbee gadget, don't have resident inventor Widget, devise a Flippity Flip Cam 3000 for use of the beloved Nickelodeon children's program.  It is that popular and that good.

John Lennon once stated, "Life happens when you are making other plans."  Now you can capture all the happenings of life using the Flip Ultra HD.

 INEXPENSIVE OPTIONS

For those without an HDTV there is a Flip Mino device that exports to your TV using RCA plugs while providing 60 minutes of standard definition quality at half the cost of the HD model.
